Reading your manuscript
You've spent some time looking at individual pieces. Let's read them together, away from the project tree.
Open the reader
Expand the manuscript area in the footer and choose Read. The full-screen reader has Scroll for continuous reading and Page for individual pages. Close it to return to the workspace.
Read the transition
Read the end of Alasdair - Chapter II, then the start of Alasdair - Chapter III. These are short excerpts, but they'll show you how it feels to move between segments.
With your own draft, try reading across a scene break before stopping to edit. If something needs work, leave a note or return to the source segment.
Separate reading scale from page layout
Zoom changes how large the pages look on screen. Publication layout sets the page dimensions, margins, and running headers or footers.
Use the manuscript controls for those choices. The width you chose for the segment editor is just for writing comfortably.
If something is missing
Check that the segment is included in this manuscript and in the intended section. Hidden outline entries and word-count exclusions don't change that selection.
For an unexpected heading, check the entry's title presentation before adding a heading to the source scene.
Return to the original
Open the segment from the sidebar or its existing tab, revise it, then return to the reader.
When you're ready to read elsewhere or share the draft, export a copy.
