I'm Bara (26M). I am building Writality because I really want to finish my novel.
That might sound strange, but I have had this goal for a long time, but somehow every tool I have used has felt limiting. Not built for the way I write. Often, they were too generic (think Notion, Google Docs and the like), too cluttered (feature bloat), or too focused on predatory monetisation. And now, jarringly, also AI slop.
I wanted something specific to novel writing. I wanted to mess around with my world and for it to mean something at the end of the day. To see progress even when it looks like this [++50 added, --100 removed]. I like to Mess around with various concepts, have my art, or images, or references to other works. I needed a piece of software that was focused and with thought behind it.
Besides that, I also think writing should be FREE. Free and unshackled. Free to create infinite worlds, add infinite number of images and without requiring you to jump between platforms. If someone wants to sit down and write, especially something as demanding as a novel, the software should not be the thing that stops them.
So I built Writality. For myself, and for anyone else who has felt that same. I wanted to topple the giants and beckon a new era for creative writers and worldbuilders.
