Tags
Tags give concepts and segments a shared label. Needs revision can mark a character profile, a city description, and a chapter, even though they live in different parts of the project.
Give the material a useful label
Open Alasdair and use the tag control near his title. Choose or create Needs revision. Add it to The Crown or Alasdair - Chapter II too, if they need another pass.
A tag labels the whole concept or segment, rather than a paragraph inside it.
Use types, folders, tags, and attributes for different questions
| Question | Tool | Example |
|---|---|---|
| What kind of thing is this? | Concept type | Character. |
| Where will I find this scene? | Folder | Alasdair, for his chapters. |
| Which pieces need attention? | Tag | Needs revision. |
| What detail am I recording? | Attribute | Occupation: Assassin. |
One concept or segment can carry several tags. You don't need to move it into another folder to give it another label.
Read the labels in context
The sidebar's tag display controls change how labels appear in the tree. Use tag filtering to narrow the visible material. Clear the filter if something seems to be missing.
Manage the labels themselves in project tag settings. Removing a tag from a concept or segment leaves that material in place.
Keep the vocabulary small enough to use
Start with a label you'll actually use. Needs revision, Revise, and Fix later might all mean the same thing to you. One is easier to work through than three.
