World Anvil is one of the goats.
I think World Anvil is and has been doing something really cool for writers and worldbuilders. It puts its focus on lore, setting, and the surrounding structure of a world. It is expansive, and for some kinds of creators that is exactly what they need. I don't even know that I have used all their features; there are so many.

Why I built Writality anyway
My own need was narrower and I wanted something offline where the app design helps you write better. I wanted the worldbuilding to support the writing. Writality is built around the balance of worldbuilding and writing the narrative.
