Bara, creator of Writality

Cool app for storytelling and worldbuilding.

There is a lot to like in Campfire Writing. It takes writing seriously, and that already puts it ahead of a lot of generic tools. The focus on worldbuilding is there and many people love it. It works well, but has a different philosophy and focus to Writality.

Why I built Writality anyway

For me, the plans and modules added decisions I did not want to make before writing. Just let me write. I also found it too specific for the way I work. Its starting points felt more defined than I wanted. I prefer defining my own concepts, whether they are religions, cultures, or something else entirely.

Where Writality may fit you better

  • Writers who want a simpler all-in-one space
  • People who dislike modular pricing logic and want freedom in their writing
  • Projects where writing and planning should feel equally central
