The short version.

Your writing belongs to you. Writality is built around keeping your work on your device, not on a server somewhere.

In the future, I may add features that require some data to be stored in the cloud like syncing between devices, but that will be opt-in and I will be transparent about what data is stored and how it is used. This might be the case if I get to the collaboration features, but I am not sure yet.

If you sign up for the newsletter, I keep the email address you gave me for that purpose. That is the whole trick.

I do ask for your name and email when downloading the app, but that is just to prevent abuse and to get a sense of who is using the app.

I am not selling your data. I am not packaging it up for advertisers. I am not doing anything especially clever with it, which in this case should be reassuring.

If you subscribe, expect very little. I have sent one, maybe two emails. This might change, but I will keep it chill and nonchalant.

If that ever changes, it will still be occasional updates, not a campaign to occupy your inbox until morale improves.

Use it lawfully, do not abuse the site, and do not make a nuisance of yourself. Please.

The app is provided as-is. I am trying to make it good, but I am not pretending software has never broken in human history.

If something changes in a serious way, I will update this page. I reserve the right to improve the app without first convening a constitutional assembly :P.

If you want something deleted, changed, or clarified, send me an email and I will deal with it like a reasonable person.
