Features

  • Completely reworked the manuscript. 85% ~ ish done.
    • Added Front matter and back matter pages to manuscript.
    • Added rules to manuscript.
    • Added ability to export to epub
    • Added cover image to manuscript for pdf and epub exports also.
    • Added editor decorations (You can find these on the slash / menu)
    • Added ability to edit segents directly in the manuscript page.
    • The manuscript now keeps the original editor structure and formatting instead of converting content into simplified manuscript-only blocks.
    • Images, bullet lists, numbered lists, task lists, blockquotes, code blocks, details, tables and headings now render properly in the manuscript and export correctly.
    • Removed the manuscript formatting sidebar. Now practically everything you need should be on the manuscipt sidebar.
    • Adjusted styling of page breaks and spacing in the manuscript so it doesn't clutter.
    • Cleaned up and simplified the manuscript interface.
    • All exports now share the same underlying manuscript engine, meaning what you see is what you get. (Not 1:1 for docx since things like table roundedness isn't really possible there)
    • HTML and EPUB manuscript exports now carry only the uploaded custom fonts they use, so they render correctly on computers without those fonts installed.
    • DOCX exports now warn when custom fonts are used because Word documents cannot currently include those font files.
  • Added paragraph drop caps with configurable two to five line sizing.
  • Added Document Outline to concepts and segments, with heading navigation. Meaning if you have a page with many headings you can now quickly navigate through them.

Improvements

  • Removed JSON content import/export from the editor menus and added a bulk import shortcut that opens Import settings for splitting large documents into segments or concepts.
  • Custom fonts are now available in map text and region-label font pickers, including after reopening a map.
  • Added a separate interface title-font setting alongside the interface body font setting.
  • Spellcheck language settings now include every dictionary language available.
  • Updated study/dashboard styling and cleaned up the design.
  • Themes
    • Added ability to change themes from the top right of the screen, and improved theme list items.
    • Replaced the beta theme with the previous "paper" theme. The default Writality theme is now the old paper theme.
    • Added new Writality themes.
    • You can now adjust the roundedness of corners in your theme settings.
  • Small fixes and improvements
    • You can not toggle off the references also in concepts.
    • Cmd/ctrlA selects the block you're on
    • Cmd/ctrlA twice selects all text except title
    • Cmd/ctrlA three times selects all text in editor including title
    • Added a project-wide editor setting to hide mentions in every concept and segment relationship graph, with a per-graph override.
  • Removed the note button that shows up on the right of the editor when hovering over editor content.
  • Automatic mention suggestions now have a wheel so you can select specific concepts that may share names/aliases

Bug fixes

  • Fixed concept and segment sidebar notes being difficult to reorder without accidentally interacting with note text.
  • Fixed manuscript and map sprite lists being difficult to navigate horizontally with a standard mouse or keyboard.
  • Fixed relationship dialogs overflowing when multiple concepts are selected.
  • Fixed editor note popovers expanding past their intended width.
  • Fixed relationship previews showing directional labels beside the wrong concept when adding a relationship.
  • Fixed unlinked paragraph notes leaving note icons on linked concepts in the same paragraph.
  • Fixed copied and pasted mentions temporarily displaying as numbered references instead of using their mention colour.
  • Fixed editor formatting being lost after inserting a mention from the @ menu, and removed its automatic added space.
  • Fixed issue where creating a concept from the editor @ menu was hidden when the typed name matched an existing longer concept, such as light matching Raylights.
  • Fixed concept and segment titles using the editor body font instead of their configured title font.
  • Fixed backup error messages. It will now only appear after a 4 retries. (Often the file is locked by syncing on first open causing the error to pop-up).
  • Fixed issue where segment sidebar was scrolling on smaller widths - Now only the headings scroll.
  • Fixed issue where drag handle would disappear if you hovered over the title and back to some text.
  • Fixed the issue where typing out a link wasn't being treated like an external link.
    • External links now open your browser instead of a writality browser.
  • Fixed deleted relationship types not appearing in the Deleted tab, so they can be permanently deleted and their names reused without a duplicate-name error.
  • Fixed the folder relationships graph showing a detached current entity.
  • Fixed app zoom resetting to 100% when toggling fullscreen with F11.
