Features

• Added discord integration as a module.
  • This can be toggled in the module settings, as well as customised. - You can now have writality as a discord activity :))

Improvements

• Segment reference images on the sidebar can now be opened in fullscreen.
• Offset the zen mode exit button so its less likely to trigger sidebar open
• When creating concepts from the relationship menu, the create new is no longer the first option.
• When creating relationships, you can now select multiple concepts and create the same relationships for them.
• Bunch of performance improvements. Especially on older hardware, app should run smoother.
• Added Writality's own background image as default project image and in the startup. Thank you Robin <3
• Added search and replace when document is readonly.

• Improved mentions:
  • The automentions, instead of an annoying menu, now works more like autocomplete and you can press Tab to accept.
  • When you select text that matches a concept name, the toolbar has an extra function to automatically create mentions. This also allows you to update all occurences of that text into a mention in the editor. (Using mentions is encouraged as it will give you greater insight on your story and concepts within it)
  • Mentions now show on the graph on the sidebar as dashed lines. Relationships will show as solid lines.
  • Story Graph can now show segments as neutral rounded rectangles, connected to concepts by dashed mention lines. You can independently show or hide concepts, segments, relationships, and mentions.
  • Added presences section to concept sidebar. So you can see which segments mention the concept and how many times.

• Added safer automatic backups:
  • Writality now keeps one automatic daily database backup in a clearly named daily-backup folder.
  • The daily backup is refreshed when Writality is opened, capturing the data left by the previous session.
  • While Writality remains open, it periodically checks whether the daily backup is more than 24 hours old and refreshes it when needed.
  • A new backup is only committed after both the current database and the copied snapshot pass SQLite integrity checks. If creation or verification fails, the existing known-good daily backup is kept untouched.
  • If the startup backup cannot be created safely, Writality shows the error and asks you to contact the me. This is not a major issue, but it suggests something is stopping the backup from happening.
  • Backups created before updates, restores, or manual actions now use descriptive folder names such as update-backup-..., pre-restore-backup-..., and manual-backup-... rather than an unclear date-number name.
  • Writality keeps the two newest automatic update backups. Older update backups are removed only after an update downloads successfully; manual and other backup types are not included in this cleanup.

• Added greater editor control:
  • You can now change the line height, letter spacing, paragraph spacing for individual editor blocks.
  • Titles are no longer separate from the editor. This means you can style them the same way you style editor content. You can center them, change their fonts, colours, and add editor marks to them.
  • These changes are steps towards the manuscript rework which will allow greater control over styling.
  • ! This will not be reflected on the current manuscript yet !

Bug fixes

• Fixed issue where after creating a new concept from the editor @ menu, the autolinking feature didn't have the new concept.
• Fixed issue where search and replace was being rendered behind fixed toolbar.
