Features

  • Remade website from scratch! The website and app now share a repo and many functionalities ��‍↔️.
    • Includes writing and worldbuilding guides, feature demonstrations, app comparisons, downloads, and the changelog.
    • Added a community theme catalogue with previews and downloads, a roadmap, and a supporter page. Thank you again to all my supporters
  • Added documentation to the app and website. These go through the main features in the app and how to use them.
  • Added video tutorials to the onboarding and documentation pages.
    • The videos are bundled with the app and work offline.

Improvements

  • Updated app and UI design again... Sorry I can't help myself. I have been really into clean and clever UI recently.
    • Settings and Docs are now at the bottom of the navigation rail.
    • Settings no longer open in a dialog / modal.
      • This means you can open them in tabs or split view beside your writing. Should make theme making easier :PP
    • Hovering over another section previews its sidebar without leaving the current page, including when the sidebar is collapsed.
    • Updated the tab design. Tabs now use more of the header space, including the area above the sidebar.
    • Sidebars now size themselves to fit the window until you resize them yourself.
    • Concept, segment, and folder sidebars can now shrink further before closing when dragged past their minimum width.
    • Improved concept and segment top bars for narrow windows and split view. Opening the right sidebar now keeps the editor controls beside the editor, and long titles have more room before being shortened.
    • Updated the fixed editor toolbar and top bar backgrounds to keep controls readable over editor images.
  • Study got some love
    • Updated the writing activity graph in the dashboard and profile settings.
    • Removed the sidebar and added tabs.
    • Added progress tab with more writing analytics
    • You can move between days with the keyboard.
  • Updates setup and onboarding.
    • You can preview light and dark themes before creating a workspace, and your choice carries into the app.
    • Design has been updated to match website and new writality design
  • Updated the changelog design so releases use the same presentation in the app and on the website.
  • Removed the Presence timeline from concept sidebars. (This info is already shown in the connections)
  • Improved loading of manuscript lists in projects with many manuscripts.
  • Updated Electron and the editor, document import, and image processing libraries with security fixes.
  • Completely remade the onboarding and tutorial in the app with video guides and cleaner design.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed issue where opening Settings could reset the app scale to 100% instead of keeping your selected scale.
  • Fixed issue where the main sidebar resize border was partly blocked and difficult to grab.
  • Fixed issue where editor titles and top bar controls could overlap when a right sidebar was open or the pane was narrow.
  • Fixed issue where importing music could fail on virtual drives that do not support hard links.
  • Fixed image handling so invalid paths and links cannot access files outside the workspace when viewing, exporting, deleting, or duplicating project images.
