Features

  • Added Voices to concepts and segments. Another way to look at your story through its dialogue.
    • See who your characters talk to and read their conversations across segments.
    • Added a dialogue timeline so you can see who speaks when in a scene.
    • Added Conversation focus, so you can dim the narration and focus on the dialogue.
    • Check out the new tab on the segment and concept sidebar
  • You can now repeat the music queue or the current song using the repeat button in the music player.

Improvements

  • Removed Mentions and Mentioned in from the concept/segment sidebars since the graph already shows this.
  • Date pickers now remember the last date selected in each project, so it doesn't default to 2026 every time.
  • Image modals now all have an upload button
  • You can now remove the bubble (floating) menu if you have fixed toolbar toggled.
  • Updated the sidebar to make it a little less visually busy. You can toggle between the colourful and calm (the new default)
  • Reduced the sidebar's minimum width so you can make it a lot smaller before it closes. Removed the gaps beside it and between split pages too, so you can now drag the borders to resize them, or drag the sidebar open when it's closed.
  • Added duplication to segments and concepts.
  • UI improvements
    • Concept header images will now appear behind the sidebar when it's opened.
    • Once again changed the tab designs
    • Improved sidebar design. Removed the gap between sidebar and main page content
    • Changed design of concept colours so now it's more compact.
    • Changed fixed toolbar design. Removed borders in place of spacing. So it's less busy.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed issue where custom terrain colours could paint green instead of the selected colour when there was transparency.
  • Fixed issue where the concept and folder icon search fields were losing focus after clicking them, preventing typing unless the mouse button was held down.
  • Fixed issue where disabled or reassigned shortcuts briefly reverted to their defaults after reloading.
  • Fixed issue where Cmd/CtrlW shortcut was closing the window instead of the current tab.
  • Fixed issue where keyboard shortcuts were not working while typing, conflicting with editor formatting, or triggering while recording a new shortcut.
  • Fixed issue where music player bars were shrinking when the window was narrowed.
  • Fixed issue where en spellcheck was not working. (it has been removed, use other En-x languages)
  • Fixed issue where renamed calendar months were keeping their old preset abbreviations in date selections, Chronology, and date format previews.
  • Fixed issue where the first opened page was returning to Study after closing another tab.
  • Fixed one border on the sidebar not using the correct theme colour
  • Fixed issue where you couldn't fully vertically scroll on kanban columns.
  • Fixed issue where header text was rendering above manuscript body toggle.
  • Fixed issue where swapping relationship sources and targets was creating duplicates that could not be removed. Big oopsie on my part, I apologise. Existing empty duplicates will be cleanuped up.
  • Fixed issue where backup error message was showing at startup despite backup suceeding. The error message now shows within the app itself.
  • Fixed issue where Shift+clicking concepts, segments, or folders in the sidebar was opening a blank window. (Not sure what interaction I want for this yet)
  • Fixed issue where the Manage shared date buttons were cut off.
  • Fixed issue where adding a date was opening on Year only instead of Absolute date with Full date selected, and unsaved dates were hiding their save and delete buttons.
