  • Keyboard shortcuts can now be customised in Settings.

Improvements

  • The document outline can now be shown or hidden from the editor settings in the top bar.
  • App shell improvements. Inspired by vscode.
    • Updated icons. Now the app has a consistent set of UI icons separate from selectable icons.
    • Added new themes.
    • Updated app UI design in general. For the theme makers... sorry. This means you might have to update your themes, there are some new theme colours like app shell etc.
    • With the new footer space, added easy spell check toggles, editor ui scaling option, writing session data, and easy font changes
  • Improved zen mode so now it doesn't render the tabs or footer.
  • Updated sidebar design
    • Sidebar should be a lot less busy.
    • Returned the readable tags on the sidebar.
    • Removed the workspace tab, now sidebar is only workspace
    • Deleted tab has been moved into a menu.
    • Improved tooltip and menu designs and UI.
    • Improved drag and drop logic in the sidebar
  • Attribute improvements
    • Updated attributes so they now have types. Text, Number, and Date.
    • Updated date picker so you can now choose to only specify month and year.
    • Added linked date attributes. So you can now link two of the same dates, updating 1 updates the other.
    • Added relative date attributes. You can set 1 date dependent on another. Eg 1 month after x. Updating one will update the other.
  • Updated chronology view so dates are more compact and position themselves better.
  • You can open chronology page in full screen.
  • You can open your file explorer from the workspace settings now
  • Improved image viewing: concept and reference images can now be zoomed and downloaded.
  • When you hover over an insight now, it doesn't scroll to the area on the text, only on click.
  • Lots and lots of internal work.
    • App should startup quicker and be less prone to errors.
    • Setup a bunch of work for incoming sync.

Bug fixes

  • Kanban now opens correctly in either side of split view.
  • Footer controls now respect theme colours, support translation, and leave the Manuscript shortcut free when Manuscript is disabled.
  • Fixed backup restoration requiring Writality to be closed and reopened before restored data appeared. All open queries now refresh after a restore.
  • Fixed issue where sorting concepts was not working.
  • Fixed issue where there was no option to delete a manuscript.
  • Fixed leap-day rules resetting after being saved.
  • Fixed dates jumping back to earlier months in Chronology and Concept/Segment date pickers with standard and custom calendars.
  • Exporting a segment now keeps the document as written instead of adding a generated title or update line.
  • Fixed issue where hovering over a node in the relationships graph in segments and concepts when either mentions or relationships were toggled off resulting in the ui glitching.
