Hi.

I'm Bara, and I'm 25 years old.. and I am building Writality. Why? Simple. I really want to write a novel.

That goal has been with me for a long time, but every tool I tried felt like it was built for everything except that. They were too generic, too cluttered, or too willing to turn writing into another subscription.

I wanted something specific to novel writing. I wanted a place to hold drafts, characters, fragments, scenes, and all the loose threads that come with trying to build a longer piece of work. I wanted a tool that helped me stay inside the writing instead of constantly fighting the software.

I also think writing should be free. Not free in the sense that the work is easy, but free in the sense that the act itself should not be gated behind a paywall. If someone wants to sit down and write, especially something as demanding as a novel, the tool should not be the thing that stops them.

So I built Writality for myself, and for anyone else who has felt that same frustration. I wanted to make the kind of tool I had been looking for: focused, useful, built for novel writing, and free to use.
